Heather Marx, Curator of Exhibitions, Chan Zucerkberg Initiative Community Space

Heather Marx, Art Advisor for the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative in Redwood City, California recently curated “Joy” at the CZI Community Space in late October. The Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation and Chan Zuckerberg Initiative (CZI) presents a series of biannual exhibitions to support artists and residents in San Mateo County. The exhibits come from a community-wide call for artists of all ages and abilities, living or working in San Mateo County, California. Seven artists are selected to exhibit their wide-ranging, thought-provoking and engaging artwork based on themes selected by an intergenerational Art Advisory Work Group. The main purpose of the art exhibitions is to promote local artists by exhibiting their artwork and to provide an opportunity to promote education, awareness, and community understanding.
